A suspect is being sought by police following a violent attack which left another man hospitalised in south London.

The assault took place on Clapham High Street just after 10pm on October 20 last year.

Two men were speaking to the victim when one of them pushed him and punched him in the face, causing him to fall to the ground, the Metropolitan Police said.

The victim was found by a member of the public who called 999.

He was rushed to a local hospital with severe head injuries.

On Thursday, Scotland Yard released a CCTV image of the suspect in a public appeal to identify him.

Detective Constable Olivia Broughton, investigating, said: “Violent behaviour such as this will not be tolerated.

“We will do everything in our power to stop aggressive behaviour on the streets of London and would like your help to identify the man responsible for this attack.”
