Maro Itoje named in Saracens side to face Bath in injury boost for club and country

Harlequins v Saracens - Gallagher Premiership - Twickenham Stoop

Maro Itoje will hand England coach Eddie Jones a boost ahead of the November Tests when he returns to action for Saracens on Saturday.

The second-row is named to play against Bath after recovering from a shoulder injury suffered late on in the 30-27 win over Harlequins last month. The 27-year-old bolsters a Sarries team who top the table and average more than five tries a game.

Full-back Alex Goode starts after two appearances off the bench this season, but prop Mako Vunipola is suspended.

Jones will name his squad for Tests against Argentina, Japan, New Zealand and South Africa on Monday before they head to Jersey for a preparation camp.

On Sunday, Harlequins welcome back Springbok centre Andre Esterhuizen from Rugby Championship action for the visit of Leicester.

He links up in midfield with Luke Northmore and Marcus Smith in a team captained by prop Joe Marler, who makes his 250th appearance.

London Irish face a stern challenge when they head to Sale on Friday night, Alex Sanderson’s Sharks having won four out of four matches so far.
