Ronald Koeman praised his Southampton side for beating ‘one of the best teams’ in the Premier League after a shock 2-1 win at Tottenham.
Spurs started brightly against Southampton at White Hart Lane on Sunday, with Heung-min Son putting Pochettino's men ahead in the 16th minute.
But a Steven Davis brace either side of half-time decided the game for the Saints as Spurs dropped more points in a disappointing end to the campaign.
Spurs' latest setback leaves north London rivals Arsenal with a small chance of finishing above them in second, having only picking up two points in their last three games.
Koeman was ecstatic with his side’s performance, and believes it was made all the more special due to the quality of the opposition.
The Dutch coach told BBC Sport: “It's a great win for us, because to win here against Tottenham, one of the best teams in the league is a big result.”
He later told reporters of the win: "It is a big, big achievement, but it is nice.

"Tottenham was the better team at the start of the game, very aggressive, very good football, they made it very difficult.
"We had a good reaction in the game, some good crosses, we made it really dangerous. It is all about scoring chances but we showed belief in the second half.
"We controlled a little bit better in the midfield area and we were dangerous with the pace in front. After 2-1 we were a little bit lucky.
"It was a great win and we are very proud of it."
Tottenham remain in second place, but with Arsenal drawing 2-2 against Manchester City they know that a point will be enough against Newcastle on the last day to secure a place above the Gunners for the first time in 20 years.
