Ballack: Chelsea are nervous

Bayern Munich midfielder Michael Ballack today hit back at accusations that he was a "serial diver" and boasted the Germans can upset Chelsea's Champions League quest.

Chelsea captain John Terry was furious that the German international was awarded an injury-time penalty in last week's first-leg quarter-final, narrowing the London side's lead to 4-2 before tomorrow's second leg in Munich.

But Ballack said: "It was a clear penalty. If the English are moaning about it, it just shows that they are nervous. We know we are capable of getting through."

Bayern have been boosted by a 2-1 defeat of Borussia Moenchengladbach in the Bundesliga at the weekend. Coach Felix Magath said: "We are capable of scoring two goals in 45 minutes and that is what we need. We go into the game convinced we can knock Chelsea out."

Meanwhile, Jose Mourinho showed his commitment to Chelsea today as he spoke of his desire to finish his "fantastic project" at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea are on the verge of landingthe Premiership title despite needing a late Didier Drogba goal on Saturday to rescue a 1-1 draw with Birmingham City

Following Mourinho's row with the club over a lack of support there were fears Real Madrid or another European super power might try and lure him away.

But the Chelsea manager said today: "I am very happy. I have a fantastic group, this is a fantastic club with a fantastic project. Maybe the season is even better than anyone could have dreamed of, even me."

Mourinho also revealed he will be in Munich's Olympic Stadium tomorrow, even though he will still be banned from the touchline.

"Yes I will be somewhere in the stadium," he said. "In the stand, in a box - I don't know where but I will be in the stadium."
