The organisers of an east London music festival apologised today after revellers were injured in a “scary” crush caused by a ticketing glitch.

The company behind We Are FSTVL said five people were hurt on Saturday after “unforeseen technical difficulties” at the wristband exchange.

Witnesses today told how revellers were seen collapsing as they waited for more than three hours to be let into the festival in Upminster.

In a statement on social media, organisers Lime Green Events said: “Whilst we managed to rectify the issue, we accept queuing times on Saturday were unacceptable.”

Videos posted online, left, appeared to show crowds dismantling barriers and rushing past staff to get inside.

One woman, who asked not to be named, said she had travelled from Hertfordshire to attend the festival and paid £90 for a VIP wristband.

She said: “It was scary, you didn’t have a choice but to get shoved. The gates had been pushed over and people were falling down and getting crushed.”
