A stalker who bombarded Walthamstow MP Stella Creasy with hundreds of threatening emails leaving her “fearing for her family’s safety” has walked free from court.

Corinna Anne Loughlin, 45, sent Ms Creasy daily violent messages to her parliament email and office containing abusive language.

She told Ms Creasy that she “needs some f***ing money” and wanted music producer Rick Rubin and musician Mark Ronson “dead”.

Loughlin’s messages caused the 39-year-old to fear for her family’s safety, Hendon magistrates’ court heard.

Prosecutor Balbir Suri said: “The contact caused Ms Creasy concern and they would often contain violent language and delirious thoughts about harming other people.”

The court heard the Labour MP was so concerned that she insisted staff kept logs of all the emails and letters received. At a previous hearing in October Loughlin pleaded guilty to a charge of stalking without fear, alarm or distress.

Defending, Ines Diab said Loughlin has ongoing mental health issues: “She became homeless in 2014, around the time when all this behaviour began.”

Judge Brennan sentenced Loughlin, from Barnet, to 24 weeks’ imprisonment suspended for two years.

He also imposed a restraining order preventing her from contacting Ms Creasy either directly or indirectly, and ordered her to pay a £115 surcharge and costs of £85.

Judge Brennan said: “Over a 19 month period from January 2015 until mid-September 2016 you plagued Stella Creasy MP with daily emails and letters.

“Those emails and letters contained violent language and it is unsurprising that Stella Creasy was caused distress and alarm and in fear for her and the safety of her family.

“It is noble of her that she says you are someone who is need of help.”
