How to make healthy granola for breakfast

Breakfast is essential to keep us on the right track through the day. Studies have shown that skipping or having the wrong breakfast can cause us to make poor eating choices later in the day.

Granola is a really good breakfast option for those who like to eat well. However, many shop-bought varieties are far too high in fat and loaded with sugar.

Taking the time to make your own breakfast granola is well worth it. My all-time favourite ingredients to include are oats, nuts and seeds. They’re all natural sources of energy-boosting magnesium, which means they’re brilliant to eat before a workout or to keep you energised through your morning. Here my healthy recipe for granola - follow it along with the video above.

Ingredients:

Coconut Oil

Agave

Gluten-free Oats

Coconut Flakes

Goji Berries

Mulberries

Cinnamon

Nuts

Seeds

Method:

Melt in your coconut oil and agave.

Add some gluten-free oats and coat them in the mixture, allowing the oats to toast slightly.

Spread toasted oats onto a baking tray and place inside a pre-heated oven and bake until crispy.

Melt a small amount of coconut oil into a pan and stir in the coconut flakes.

Add a few pinches of cinnamon and continue to coat until toasted.

Once toasted, add a few pinches of cinnamon and continue to coat until toasted. Then add your crispy oats and mix.

Finally add your crispy oats and a generous mix of seeds and nuts .
