Premier League confirms five positive cases after latest round of coronavirus testing

Five individuals have tested positive for coronavirus during the latest round of testing across the Premier League.

1,128 players and club officials were tested between October 5-11.

That figure sees the sees the number of positive cases fall from nine positive cases last week.

Those who tested positive for Covid-19 have not been identified and will now self-isolate for a period of 10 days.

"The Premier League can today confirm that between Monday 5 October and Sunday 11 October, 1,128 players and club staff were tested for COVID-19," the Premier League said in a statement.

"Of these, there were five new positive tests. Players or club staff who have tested positive will self-isolate for a period of 10 days."
