Anthony Joshua will defend his world heavyweight titles against Kubrat Pulev on December 12 with the Bulgarian claiming a ‘date and place’ for their bout are confirmed.
Pulev, the mandatory challenger for Joshua’s IBF title, was originally scheduled to meet the Briton on June 20 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
The coronavirus pandemic ensured the fight was postponed, however, with the outbreak forcing the bout back to the back end of the year.
Pulev’s website now claims a venue in London has now been confirmed.
“The time has come! Kubrat Pulev faces Anthony Joshua on December 12th this year in a long-awaited match for the world heavyweight boxing title,” Pulev said.
"The date and place of the event are now final and cannot be changed, and both parties have signed the official contract.”
While boxing has returned to our screens, fans are still being kept away from arenas and stadiums.
Matchroom successfully staged four shows at their Fight Camp series in August from Eddie Hearn’s back garden in Brentwood, Essex. Shows from arenas will return this weekend with Lewis Ritson taking on Miguel Vazquez behind closed doors at Newcastle’s Utilita Arena.
