Fancy a bargain set of Eames chairs anyone? Design showroom Vitra in Clerkenwell Road is hosting a huge sale, packed with over 700 design classics priced from £20.

Furniture company Vitra is set to throw open the doors of its Clerkenwell showroom for a one-off design sale on Saturday 2 September.

There will be more than 700 pieces to choose from at the hotly-anticipated event, with everything from small interiors accessories to limited edition design classics.

Doors will open at 9.30am, although it's advisable to get there before as we're told Vitra staff are expecting 'queues around the block'.

At reduced prices of between 30 and 90 per cent, the sale will feature an exciting collection of 'Star Buys' which will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis.

Highlights include a set of four Charles & Ray Eames plastic chairs in mauve grey with maple legs which has been reduced to £149 (was £1,150).

There's also an iconic Panton Chair by Verner Panton in summer green for £20 (was £175).

A classic Eames lounge chair and ottoman have been reduced to £999 (were £4,075); while Home Desk by George Nelson will be on sale for £399 (was £2,042).

The aluminium chair EA104 by Charles & Ray Eames in chrome with blue upholstery is priced £100 (was £1,657).

Items must be taken away from the sale directly, or delivery can be arranged for £60 to homes within the M25. For addresses outside the M25, ask for a quote on the day.
