A sweet treat for the McVitie heir? Made in Chelsea star Jamie Laing could be the perfect buyer for this grand flat

Think of McVitie’s digestives and you think of west London, with Jamie Laing, heir to the family biscuit fortune, starring in Made in Chelsea.

But the brand’s founder, Robert McVitie, was more at home in Hertfordshire. He bought Woodcock Hill, a Georgian country house in three Berkhamsted acres, in 1907 for £9,500. A few years after he died, his widow sold it for £10,000.

In 1939, it became home to 10 wartime evacuee schoolgirls, in 1942 Carmelite Nuns moved in and in 1951 it was turned into three grand flats, one of which is now for sale on the ground floor, with four bedrooms, with Fine & Country for £1.75 million.

A weekend retreat for Laing’s gang?
