Madonna’s Instagram is awash with pictures of her new Lisbon home.

The superstar has moved into the 18th century ‘palacete’ Quinta do Relógio in the hilltop town of Sintra, with views over the Moorish castle and world heritage site of Quinta da Regaleira.

She is thought to have splashed out £6.8 million on the four-bedroom, seven-bathroom which was listed with agents Engel & Volkers.

The queen of pop posted a picture of her kitchen, with beautiful woven baskets hanging from the ceilings, saying: “I used to be a basket case but now I live in Lisbon.”

She fell in love with Portugal after visiting with her children. Her 11-year-old son David Banda, who she adopted from Malawi, has joined the Benfica football team youth academy.
