The Woman’s Hour Craft Prize
Until 5 February 2018, Sackler Centre, V&A Museum, South Kensington SW7. Admission free.

Shattering craft stereotypes are the 12 finalists, selected from 1,500 entries, for the inaugural £10,000 Woman’s Hour Craft Prize, launched a year ago to mark 70 years of the BBC radio show and celebrating the UK’s most innovative and exciting makers.

Here, craftspeople are using their hands to tell stories, raise issues and make political points. Find huge handwoven willow structures by Laura Ellen Bacon, pictured, plus bespoke bicycles, futuristic glass figures and jewellery made with 18th-century relics found in the mud of the River Thames. The makers are holding workshops throughout the show.

In its ninth year, enjoy a rich spread of fine art, furniture, jewellery and the decorative arts, both antique and contemporary.
