The first official trailer for Dennis Villeneuve's upcoming sci-fi adventure movie Dune has landed.
Starring Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Josh Brolin, Jason Momoa and more, the heavily anticipated feature film is slated to be released December 18 this year.
While a teaser clip for the movie was revealed yesterday, fans can finally catch the full trailer. Watch it in its entirety above.
In the clip, we see Chalamet's character Paul Atreides putting his hand within the "pain box" and having visions of a future where his family no longer rules the planet. Those visions come true, and other characters such as Zendaya's Chani make appearances.
Based on Frank Herbert's 1965 novel of the same name, Dune centres on Paul Atreides, a gifted man seeking to liberate the planet of Arrakis – an arid wasteland that also happens to be the source for precious drug "spice".
The clip also sees Chalamet reciting one of the most memorable lines from the book, in a speech known as the Litany Against Fear.
“Fear is the mind killer,” he says. “Fear is the little death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear and I will permit it to pass over me. When the fear is gone, there will be nothing - only I will remain.”
Fans have gone wild for the new release on social media.
Once considered to be an "unfilmable" book, Villeneuve's latest project is the second book-to-film adaptation of Herbert's classic, with David Lynch's version starring Kyle MacLachlan and Patrick Stewart having been released in 1984.
Dune is set to be released in the UK on December 18, 2020
